this number calls a fews times everyday, i have tried calling the number back and it says disconnected. Everytime i answer it no one is there then it hangs up.

Honestly, I just got rid of an overseas caller and a Melbourne based spam caller
This is nothing but a waste of time yet again
I run a business but they are calling my home line, which is not listed so how on earth are they getting my phone number?

This number calls everyday atleast 5 times a day. When I answer the phone the person is silent for about 30 seconds and then hangs up. When I have tried to call it back, it says that the number is disconnected.

This number is calling frequently and when trying to call back it said: it's disconnected. Thats not possible and some one on TELSTRA may know who it is as there are hugh number of complains from people on this number.

This number calls me everyday...it's so annoying. how can we get it blocked?

Yep I had a call from this number today, was laughing when i answered yelled something out and then hang up. I rang this number back and said same old same old is was disconnected.
I will be reporting this to my phone company, best thing to do as the more complaint of a number the have to do a search on it.

Twice today I have had this number call me.
The first time it kept my busy will a long dial tone the scone time it just hung up

keep getting called by this, one would think that this number could be tracked and then disabled but i guess not or ppl are just lazy

I keep getting called by this number as well, in the morning and a few times each evening. The first few times I picked up there was silence until I said hello, and then I could hear what sounds like a call centre in the background. Needless to say I immediately hang up each time.

Now I don't answer when there's a call from that number.

yep , this is system that calls to see if you answer , logs it , then sells the times you answer to marketers , some time you hear some one in the background who is monitoring it

the best answer is not to answer the phone for this caller id

There is very high chance that this number is used by a computer system designed to find times when a human is answering the phone.

It does this 4- 6 call times during a days/ everning spread out over a 2- 4 week period , for both weekdays and weekends.

This is repeated every 4-6 months to allow for updated data pattern.

It then establishes ...
1 if the phone line is used by a person fax or computer system ,if busy all times ( computer)

2. If human then log the times called and times answered time patterns.

This information is then presented as paid information to telemarketers, other interested agencies and entities both local and international that may find this data useful.

The prepared data allows better focus their sales efforts in contacting real persons the times they are shown to be at home.

Call id shows this number , some hide their numbers for this system.

but this does not work as a lot of ppl do not answer blocked number calls so the data is not as accurate.

The system can be located in other countries with either a local state number or one location for entire country number - shown on the caller id

system is voip/data delivered so internet call cost are limited to small amounts from the local servers.

Caller id shown and local numbers is o good for this system as some numbers are only accepted as local numbers on programed systems and answered by perons.

The easy answer is when u see this number dont answer it.

Exact same thing with me.Its really annoying because I have a newborn and they call at all hours!!! Same response when I call back,its disconnected!Surely someone can do something!!

My business has been bombarded with calls from this phone number also. When we answer there is nobody there. We receive at least 2-3 phone calls every day which is nothing short of annoying when the call interrupts you serving a client and running your business! Same as the other people here have said, when I called the number it said is was disconnected. Well and truly fed up with it.

Received call (Perth, WA) from this number today (16/5/2013), but as soon as I answered it just clicked off. This number has had complaints related to it not only in Australia, but U.K., Russia, Romania, U.S.A. etc.

This number keeps calling me, then hanging up when I answer also.
